# Personal User Enhancements - Infrastructure Setup

This document summarizes the shared infrastructure and utilities set up for the personal-user-enhancements feature.

## Completed Setup

### 1. Property-Based Testing Library ✅

- **Library**: `fast-check` v4.5.3
- **Installation**: Added to devDependencies
- **Purpose**: Generate random test data for property-based testing with minimum 100 iterations per property

### 2. TypeScript Type Definitions ✅

Created comprehensive type definitions in `src/types/`:

- **`collections.d.ts`**: Smart Collections types (SmartCollection, CollectionCriteria, ContentItem, etc.)
- **`albums.d.ts`**: Album Management types (Album, AlbumPhoto, CreateAlbumDTO, etc.)
- **`statistics.d.ts`**: Personal Statistics types (UserStatistics, UploadTrend, StorageBreakdown)
- **`sync.d.ts`**: Offline Editing types (ChangeRecord, SyncResult, Conflict, Resolution, etc.)
- **`social.d.ts`**: Comments & Reactions types (Comment, Reaction, ReactionSummary, etc.)
- **`preferences.d.ts`**: User Preferences types (ThemePreferences, LayoutPreferences, etc.)
- **`profile.d.ts`**: Profile Customization types (UserProfile, CustomField, etc.)

All types are declared in the `API` namespace for consistency with existing codebase patterns.

### 3. API Service Layer ✅

Created service layer structure in `src/services/`:

#### Collections Service (`src/services/collections/`)
- `getSmartCollections()`: Fetch all smart collections
- `getCollectionContent()`: Get content for a specific collection
- `refreshSmartCollections()`: Force refresh collections

#### Albums Service (`src/services/albums/`)
- `getAlbums()`: List all albums
- `getAlbumById()`: Get album details
- `createAlbum()`: Create new album
- `updateAlbum()`: Update album
- `deleteAlbum()`: Delete album
- `addPhotosToAlbum()`: Add photos to album
- `removePhotosFromAlbum()`: Remove photos from album
- `reorderPhotos()`: Reorder photos in album
- `setAlbumCover()`: Set album cover photo

#### Statistics Service (`src/services/statistics/`)
- `getStatisticsOverview()`: Get user statistics
- `getUploadTrends()`: Get upload trends
- `getStorageBreakdown()`: Get storage breakdown
- `refreshStatistics()`: Force refresh statistics

#### Sync Service (`src/services/sync/`)
- `uploadChanges()`: Upload offline changes batch
- `getSyncStatus()`: Get sync status
- `resolveConflict()`: Resolve sync conflict

#### Comments Service (`src/services/comments/`)
- `getComments()`: Get comments for entity
- `createComment()`: Create comment
- `updateComment()`: Update comment
- `deleteComment()`: Delete comment

#### Reactions Service (`src/services/reactions/`)
- `getReactions()`: Get reactions for entity
- `addReaction()`: Add or update reaction
- `removeReaction()`: Remove reaction

#### Preferences Service (`src/services/preferences/`)
- `getPreferences()`: Get user preferences
- `updateThemePreferences()`: Update theme
- `updateLayoutPreferences()`: Update layout
- `updateTimelinePreferences()`: Update timeline display

#### Profile Service (`src/services/profile/`)
- `getProfile()`: Get user profile
- `updateProfile()`: Update profile
- `uploadCoverPhoto()`: Upload cover photo
- `updateCustomFields()`: Update custom fields

### 4. WebSocket (STOMP) Connection ✅

Existing WebSocket infrastructure verified and ready:
- **Model**: `src/models/stomp.ts` provides STOMP client connection
- **Configuration**: Auto-reconnect, heartbeat, authentication via token
- **Topics**: Ready for real-time updates on comments, reactions, and collections

### 5. Test Utilities and Generators ✅

Created comprehensive test utilities in `src/utils/test/`:

#### Generators (`generators.ts`)
- **ID Generators**: `userIdArb()`, `photoIdArb()`, `albumIdArb()`, `storyIdArb()`, etc.
- **String Generators**: `albumNameArb()`, `commentTextArb()`, `bioTextArb()`, etc.
- **Validation Generators**: `invalidCommentTextArb()`, `invalidBioTextArb()`
- **Enum Generators**: `reactionTypeArb()`, `themeModeArb()`, `layoutTypeArb()`, etc.
- **Complex Object Generators**: `albumArb()`, `commentArb()`, `changeRecordArb()`, etc.
- **Array Generators**: `photoIdsArrayArb()`, `customFieldsArrayArb()`, `changeRecordsArrayArb()`

#### Helpers (`helpers.ts`)
- **Validation**: `isValidCommentText()`, `isValidBioText()`
- **Array Operations**: `hasNoDuplicates()`, `haveSameElements()`
- **Sorting**: `isSortedNewestFirst()`, `isSortedOldestFirst()`
- **Time**: `isWithin24Hours()`
- **Testing Utilities**: `MockLocalStorage`, `waitFor()`, `deepClone()`, `deepEqual()`

#### Documentation
- **README**: Comprehensive guide in `src/utils/test/README.md`
- **Examples**: Property test examples and best practices
- **Tag Format**: Documented property test comment tag format

### 6. Verification ✅

Created and ran property tests to verify the infrastructure:
- **Test File**: `src/utils/test/__tests__/generators.property.test.ts`
- **Test Results**: All 8 property tests passed
- **Coverage**: Validates generators produce correct data types and constraints
